Event Description: This a Children’s Outing for underprivileged children. They can go on boat rides, fashioning, and swimming and lunch is provided. The Catawba Sail and Power Squadron and the Charlotte Power Squadron has been conducting this event for over 15 years. Usually 300 to 350 kids and their supervisors attend. We were a precipitator in 2014 and had the second largest number of people in the US in 2014. In 2015 our event with an event run on the other side of the river at the YMCA we had the largest number of people in the US for 2015. In 2016 it will be just the two power squadrons because the YMCA event in the weekend before. We are hoping to have 35- to 400 kids this year and all the power squadron members operating boats or working the docks will also be wearing life jackets.
